Synopsis

Kasaleo, the Revelation is a moving journey through time and cultures, from Rimouski to Kinshasa, by way of Brussels, revealing the transformative power of kasàlà, a form of Congolese poetry whose spoken word affirms an individual’s place within their lineage and community. This documentary miniseries takes us into the life and teachings of Jean Kabuta, a Rimouski-based professor born in Congo, and introduces us to men and women of diverse backgrounds who share the practice and study of a contemporary kasàlà.
